We’re a bunch of New Yorker’s looking to move better and get fitter while enjoying the Central Park outdoors and motivating group camaraderie.
Old School Fitness NYC grew from the desire to create a community of people who believe in the power of self improvement through disciplined physical training.
Our training involves minimal equipment, focusing on enhancing body control, strength, and skill through gymnastic/bodyweight training, weight lifting, and metabolic conditioning.
This group is open to everyone. The training program is fully scalable to all levels of ability. Participation is free of cost.
Classes are currently being held Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:30am and Saturdays at 11am.
Exact location in Central Park changes.

Here is where you will find the critical info on what to eat to be Old School Fit. I’ll have our food shopping lists and recipes!
Basically, eating is simple. Just take it back to the old school, way old school, 2,000 years ago old school. Back to when we lived in tribes and took our food directly from the earth, foraging and hunting.
Turns out, the way humans were meant to eat, the way we ate for thousands of years, is also the way that keeps our energy high and steady and our hearts pumping for years to come.
My mentor Greg Glassman sums it up nicely here:
“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.”
~ Greg Glassman, Founder, Crossfit.

Old School Training would be completely free if,
That said, here is how you can join the crew:
4-week training cycle
Old School Fitness NYC is about creating a community of like minded individuals that support each others efforts to improve themselves through disciplined physical movement. We do not want to coach people strictly individually and we do not want to have an unmanageable number of people performing exercises with bad form and paying us for it. We want to have a tight knit crew, led by quality coaching. To this end, we choose to facilitate multiple group training classes, all competing with and supporting one another through the daily workouts.
That said, we don’t want committed, motivated people to be blocked from participating in this because of income. I do feel that the fee is very fair for the benefits received from this type of training, but still, not everyone can afford it. Therefore, I am willing to work out other alternative payment options / discounts for any dedicated people for whom the fee is a barrier.
Just contact me to discuss.
